Good Questions
Honest answers about how we care for memorials. Don't see your question? Call or text us — we're happy to talk it through.
Not the way we do it. We never use pressure washers, wire brushes, bleach, or acid — those can permanently scar stone and accelerate decay. We use plenty of clean water, soft natural-bristle brushes, and a pH-neutral biological cleaning solution of the same type used on headstones at national cemeteries and historic monuments. It's the gentlest effective method there is.
It depends on the stone's surroundings. Here in the Yakima Valley, hard water is a real factor — cemetery irrigation leaves mineral deposits on stones over time, and heavy sprinkler exposure, tree cover and shade all shorten how long a cleaning stays fresh. The biological solution keeps working after we leave, and many stones actually look better a month later than the day we cleaned them. For stones that catch a lot of sprinkler spray, an annual care plan is the best way to stay ahead of hard-water buildup and keep the memorial looking its best year-round.
Cleaning generally requires authorization from the family or plot owner, and some cemeteries have their own rules. When you book with us, we handle the legwork — we contact the cemetery, verify their guidelines, and make sure everything is done properly and respectfully.
Yes. Bronze is cleaned with the same gentle, cemetery-safe biological process we use on granite — no stripping, no wax, no harsh chemicals. Working the oxidation out of bronze lettering and detail simply takes more hand time than stone, which is why bronze is priced separately. Veteran and military markers receive a 50% honor discount. It's a small way of saying thank you.
Very simply — most of our customers never need to be on site. Send us the name of the cemetery and your loved one's name; we locate the memorial, send you a photo and a firm quote, do the work, and deliver dated before & after photos by text or email. Payment can be handled remotely.
We clean from spring through fall, whenever temperatures stay above freezing. Memorial Day, Veterans Day, birthdays and anniversaries are popular occasions — if you'd like a stone ready for a specific date, book a few weeks ahead and we'll make it happen.
Absolutely — many families like to visit while we clean, and some tell us it's a meaningful way to spend time at the gravesite. Others prefer we simply send the photos when it's done. Either way is perfectly fine with us.
Whatever is easiest for you — we accept Cash App, cash and check. If you live out of town, Cash App makes it simple: we send the quote, you approve it, and payment takes about a minute from your phone. Your dated before & after photos arrive as soon as the work is done.
Yes. A memorial cleaning makes a thoughtful gift for a parent or grandparent who can no longer care for a family gravesite themselves — especially around Memorial Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day and the holidays. Contact us and we'll set one up for any service or amount.
Call, text or email — we're happy to talk through your memorial's condition and what we'd recommend, no obligation.
